Metalliluolan Miika Manninen arvosteli Trust Betrayalin: lue täältä.
If you didn’t understand what that was about, here you go:
Originally formed in the late 1980s, Arched Fire hit the table with their second album. The debut “Remote Control”, released in 2021, was a proper and competent display of speed/heavy metal power, which left a good impression of the band.
Back then I thought that hopefully we wouldn’t have to wait very long for a successor. This wish came true and now “Trust Betrayal” has seen the light of day, which continues on the path indicated by its predecessor.
The band from Kemijärvi hasn’t made any major changes, and why would it, because it’s not worth fixing something intact. The new album relies on the same speed metal roast, occasional thrash influences and melodiousness turning more towards heavy metal.
The song material is okay, but like its predecessor, the fuel gauge goes to red a few times. This still doesn’t hurt the overall picture too much, and this time more hooks have been added to the individual songs. For example, the single song “Pestilence”, where Tim “Ripper” Owens has been invited to visit, is a great song to get to know the band.
As a whole, “Trust Betrayal” improves a bit on the debut and continues the band’s journey with a good drive. Like its predecessor, we are not talking about the most significant album of the millennium, but Arched Fire still offers hard stuff.
8/10
