Ari: I had noticed that although we didn’t know what we were doing back in 1989-90, we still had some good ideas. I listened some of our horrible ancient live recordings to see if the stuff I wrote then had anything I could use now.

There was! An old song of ours called ”Lightseeker” had a riff I modified into the intro part of ”Fear”. The middle parts I lifted from songs ”Fear of Death” and ”Choir of Damned”, and the verse riff as well, although a slow doom metal chord progression turned into a speed metal blast riff in the process.

Chorus and bridge are new. We put the song together when Kristian visited my place, and he composed all the vocal melodies and wrote the lyrics. Mika, Assu and Janne arranged their own parts, I especially like what Janne does in the chorus.

Kristian: Don’t be afraid to live! Do things before it’s too late! And be careful because everything tries to kill you and death is horrible!
