Trust Betrayal Revealed: Song of the Week 7 – Self-Backstabbers

Ari: These are Janne’s riffs, as you can tell by the time signatures. Kristian’s vocal melodies are awesome, I especially like the NWOBHM-tinged chorus, catchy as hell. Excellent message and lyrics as well.

Kristian: People are doing things that enrich them now but will make their things very difficult in the future. This is about the bad choices people make for short sighted gain. The bad choices people make for themselves when they are made to be angry at something.

SELF-BACKSTABBERS

They can take our land and our spirit

Turn us into things that we hate

They summon the darkness from inside of us

With fear they manipulate

They devour and deflower, all forests and seas

Overpowered, dying coward, sell arms to the enemies

Evil! Lives inside us

Evil! In a total ignorance

SELF-BACKSTABBERS! Stubborn avengers

SELF-BACKSTABBERS! Doing things that make their things worse

In denial the the destruction goes on

For the profit people will die

Create a need for a greater consumption

Blame innocents, exploit and lie

Bottom trawling, stonewalling, trauma industry

Launch on warning, well poisoning, endless catastrophe

Evil! Lives inside us

Evil! In a total ignorance

Evil! Lives inside us

Evil! In a total ignorance

SELF-BACKSTABBERS! Stubborn avengers

SELF-BACKSTABBERS! Doing things that make their things worse

(solo)

PLUNDER! by a bloody handshake

TAME! The planet as our slave

Arrogant supremacy

Short-sighted stupidity

Evil! Lives inside us

Evil! In a total ignorance

Evil! Lives inside us

Evil! In a total ignorance

SELF-BACKSTABBERS! Stubborn avengers

SELF-BACKSTABBERS! Doing things that make their things worse

Conservative unadaptives sabotage themselves

Hyperbolic discounting rebels

Easily insulted mind won’t comprehend

Just leave nothing behind to grow again

SELF-BACKSTABBERS!
